I think you could learn how to do anything on YouTube.

Do you need to zombie proof your car? No problem. It’s on YouTube. Stuck with a bottle of fine wine and no corkscrew? Oh, well, that’s a piece of cake. YouTube.

Never learned how to properly iron a pleated skirt? Yup. YouTube.  Need to do any number of things with glitter and a glue gun, you will never run out of possibilities if you have YouTube. Need to get into your locked vehicle because you left your keys in it?  What? You don’t have a handy coat-hanger in your purse? Never mind. If you have your cell phone you’ve got YouTube.

But what about how to write a screenplay? Well let me tell ya. There is an abundance, a plethora, a veritable buffet, of screenwriting wisdom on YouTube. Here are a few useful links  I’ve discovered

If you are writing a smart, hipster comic fantasy/mystery thriller, or would love to?  Check out Sherlock writer Mark Gatiss on screenwriting.

And if you need to create a fascinating antagonist  Remember Gus Fring, from Breaking Bad? Here you go.

If you like to listen to lots of different famous writers talk about writing and tell insider stories, Film Courage is an amazing channel with thousands of videos. Here’s an interview with Writing Coach, Teacher, Mentor and Screenwriter Pat Verducci on finding the emotional spine in a screenplay.

If you like your info more distilled, Outstanding Screenplays is another amazing resource with screenwriting tips. Here’s Emma Thompson sharing screenwriting tips about how she wrote the screenplay for Sense and Sensibility.

So there you go. If you are not writing, you can at least watch people talk about writing.

Happy viewing, friends.
